Our mandate is to ensure the integrity and quality of permaculture, bridge our languages and culture to share permaculture.
We focus on sustainable livelihoods and solutions while addressing issues of poverty, through community mobilization around income-generation agriculture and community activities, combining sustainable, cultural, ecological, food and craft dimensions of rural life which holds tremendous potential for both income generation and enhancement for the basic quality of life in rural areas of Asia.
One key to ending poverty and mitigating climate change is to help small farmers in the developing world increase their productivity and income. A way to do this is to promote permaculture and aggro-ecology education and demonstration farm hubs. By demonstrating the increased efficiency of micro organisms and that these lead to the increase of soil fertility and the feeding and support of small efficient animals and aquaculture. Poverty that is the root cause of hunger especially on small family farms in Asia where over two thirds of humanity lives, can be overcome. We align with Permaculture Association of US, Permaculture UK and PRI Australia.
Our mission is to spread Permaculture sustainability in land design, food security and using sustainable and regenerative land design techniques. Knowledge in combination with Agricultural Heritage Systems, traditional knowledge in ASIA of all peoples. Using the new land design techniques, new research, and technologies we focus on land design to produces more and better with fewer inputs. Through Field Schools we realize sustainable intensification of rice production and sustainable livelihoods. We include Natural Farming and Sustainable Living practices as part of our consulting and teaching practices. We create and support community networking and communication for sustainable sharing of information, experience, strategies for Thailand and Asia and the roll-out and growth of higher yield sustainable farming in Asia.
SCHOOLS
Education and training is central to permaculture. It is probably the main reason why permaculture is now busily working in over 120 countries around the world. Permaculture teachers tend to be active practitioners rather than trained teachers, although permaculture is now being adopted by schools and colleges in many countries. The successful work to get permaculture onto the syllabus in Australia, USA, Canada and European countries and its adoption across southern African schools as part of the ReSCOPE program are examples of the need to spread this knowledge. Help us do the same in Asia.
There are increasing numbers of people volunteering with us, come help us change the area of the planet that feeds almost 70% of the worlds population on small family farms……in Asia.
We are committed to bringing Permaculture into schools, on to farms, into cities across Asia. A plan to build and implement Certified Apprenticeships and Internships is now in place (see courses and Internship) also school Teacher Training programs in schools providing books and Permaculture resources for teachers is available thru our membership.
